Wordpress and theams? What looks nice?

Hi zoners.
I'm thinking of redoing my website and considered to use wordpress. However, I also want to make it look nice to the sighted, I've heard that some have complained about the standard theam in wordpress. What are your experiences with regards to that? I know that most of you are blind, but what do you do with regards to esthetics or whatever that's called?
